Wynn Resorts Under Scanner, License Delayed

Wynn Resorts is expecting high returns from its new property located outside Boston. The casino operator believes the openings for June to be crucial. However, the gaming license is under scanner as the giant is facing allegations against Steve Wynn.

The company may face the heat of the lawsuit filed by the former CEO of the company in the form of delayed review. According to Steve Wynn, the Wynn Resorts has sabotaged with the privilege of attorney-client when it cooperated with the investigation executed by MGC or the Massachusetts Gaming Commission for the complaints of sexual harassment first highlighted by the Wall Street Journal.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is also minutely scrutinizing the way the executives of the company along with the board of directors had administered the complaints. On the other hand, Wynn Resorts has already completed the formalities and procedures related to the internal investigation and submitted the observation and review to the management of Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

This is not all; Steve Wynn will also sue the Commission along with the chief investigator to withhold the secret that he believes to fall under the category of privileged information.

Wynn Resorts has also expressed that it strongly believes the company has not done any activity that falls under the clauses of misconduct while cooperating with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s investigation. It has also added that the information and documents produced has not violated the privileges of attorney-client as alleged by Steve Wynn and will continue to defend the charges put up against it.

Meanwhile, a judge in Nevada has declared to put a restriction on the set of information Massachusetts receives to execute the investigation and has ordered to get over the deposition and motions surrounding the case by 25 January.

Though the case seems simple and straight, the gaming license is still on hold.
